Pre-Procedure Assistant (Perioperative)
Job Posting for Pre-Procedure Assistant (Perioperative) at Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center
Under the direct supervision of the Periop Manager and indirectly the Director of Perioperative Services, this position will support Perioperative Services in the scheduling of patients, including certain elements for procedures. This position will provide phone triage, as well as supporting patient preparation for procedure. This position assists in coordinating appropriate and professional unit communication while providing clerical support as needed.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a medical secretary course or minimum of one-year equivalent experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology-must pass basic medical terminology exam
- Minimum of two years Perioperative experience preferred
- Must be proficient and independent in OpTime/Cadence EPIC workflows within 60 days of hire
- Must be proficient in Microsoft products that support department initiatives within 60 days of hire
- Ability to work irregular shifts depending on department needs
- Ability to professionally train other department staff members as needed.
Licensure or Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Shift Time: 8-, 12- hour shifts
