Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Responsible for the procurement of goods and services and to either provide the services for such procurement or give functional directions to other delegate authority to perform such services.
- Responsible for procuring at the lowest possible total end cost, considering the guidelines of prices, service, quality, and delivery.
- Responsible for obtaining bids and quotations to maintain competitive supplies.
- Responsible for informing ordering departments whenever the quantity or specifications of materials ordered are inconsistent with sound purchasing practices or market conditions.
- Responsible for establishing and encouraging punctual delivery of specified goods and services in the correct quantities and to negotiate the return of rejected equipment and supplies.
- Reviews purchase requisitions for completeness and selects reliable sources, requests bids as necessary, evaluates quotations, and makes recommendations to the Purchasing Manager or Director of Purchasing.
- Prepares and processes purchase orders in compliance with purchasing department policy and procedures.
- Coordinates delivery of all materials with vendors and communicates any delivery issues with receiving, warehouse and ordering departments.
- Communicates supply issues and expected delivery dates with departments.
- Works closely with suppliers, warehouse team, and accounts payable to solve any discrepancies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Preference is given to qualified Santa Ana Tribal Members.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- College Degree preferred in Business or Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Purchasing Field.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Must have good negotiating skills.
- Must poses computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of purchasing/inventory software systems preferred.
- A smartphone capable of running company applications and communication systems is required. If a smartphone is not provided by the company, a candidate or employee may be provided a smartphone of the company’s choice, through a payroll deduction program.
- All employees are required to proficiently use a smartphone for company applications, email, and text.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission non-key gaming license.
