What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrumentation Technician position at TAMKO?

- Uses electronics and electrical test devices to test equipment for safety and efficiency.
- Performs electrical repairs on various types of electrical equipment per SOP’s and PM’s. Including 480Vac, 3-phase and 120Vac, single phase equipment.
- Read, understand, and generate standard electrical schematics.
- Creates and modifies PLC and HMI programs.
- Selects, installs, configures and calibrates industrial instruments and devices.
- Bends, hangs and runs conduit where needed. Pulls electrical cable and wire in conduit. Transports and stacks conduit and electrical wire as needed.
- Understands, participates, and follows all applicable safety programs.
- Trains operators on new systems and updates LOTO and SOP information.
- Works rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and overtime as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
- Two to three years related experience and/or training preferred.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends.

- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high and/or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat and confined spaces. The employee is occasionally exposed to acidic or caustic chemicals. A respirator may be required at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
