What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern, Graphic Designer position at Tampa Bay Rays?
The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a creative, hard-working and team-oriented individual to join the Creative Services team. This individual will provide support to the creative team, designing materials for various marketing initiatives including the advertising campaign, social media, concert promotion, game day initiatives and community events. Communication is a big part of this role, so this person must feel confident enough to contribute to the entire creative process while keeping a finger on the pulse of current trends.
Responsibilities:
- Production of art from concept to completion
- Work with the Creative team to annually review and enhance/develop brand creative
- Responsible for the design/production of marketing, advertising and branding (such as, but not limited to):
◦ Digital Advertising
◦ Social Media
◦ Social Media
◦ Print
◦ Outdoor
◦ Direct Mail
◦ Signage
◦ In-Stadium Graphics
◦ Promotional Items/Packaging
◦ Ticket Art
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for annual TV campaign and other advertising/marketing efforts
- Foster strong working relationships with the video and in-game creative teams
- Assist with planning and execution of photo shoots
Ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts and/or related field along with 1-2 years of experience in same field
- A positive, friendly and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, phone, email, letters, etc.)
- Knowledge of current design trends
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat
o Background in fine art mediums preferred
- Fluency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Good copywriting instincts and proofreading skills
- Knowledge of baseball preferred
- Interest in typography or creating custom type a plus
- Ability to work long hours, including some weekends and holidays
The following are brief internship guidelines:
- Candidates must be available for the entire duration of the internship (February – October).
- Must be available for normal office hours, game days and events as assigned
