What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Tampa Wellness?
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial operations of the all staff, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards, as well as regulatory requirements
- Manage the general ledger and perform account reconciliations and analysis
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and monitor budgets
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Supervise a team of accounting professionals
- Responsible for the coordination of annual external audit and all internal audit inquires.
- Review and refinement of systems to insure that proper accounting controls exist, while also ensuring that discrepancies are worked timely and that payment calculators are accurate.
- The Controller oversees the preparation of net revenue, cost accounting and reimbursement related reports as requested, and is also responsible for overseeing the annual budget preparation and the monthly closing process.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
- Experience with account reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation
- Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and reports
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and forecasting techniques
- Previous experience in public accounting is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
