Summary:
Tango has an exciting new opportunity to join our growing Finance team as a Senior Analyst/Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). Reporting to the Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, this role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in both the accounting close process and key FP&A activities. We are searching for a highly motivated and collaborative individual who is excited to work closely with our function leaders on key finance processes for planning and close, while also and to help scale the finance function as the company continues to grow.
Your Role:
- You will assist in preparation of the overall annual budget, reforecast, and long-range planning cycles process, including coordination of effort across multiple departments and areas including Operating Expenses, Capital Purchases, and People planning
- Serve as a business partner to the organization delivering timely and accurate monthly reporting on key areas of the business including analysis of actual results vs plan, key trends impacting the business, and projections of future spend in alignment with the company's corporate and functional goals
- Participate in the month/quarterly close process through preparation of certain account reconciliations and related journal entries, as well as ensure adherence to calendar timelines and compliance with SOX Controls requirements
- Assist in preparing quarterly management reporting package and analysis for management review with staff including commentary for trends and variances
- Team with business and procurement to ensure accurate coding and approval of purchase requests and alignment with budget
- Collect and report on non-financial metrics including headcount, time-allocation, purchase commitments, etc.
- Assist with providing management with Program resource allocation views. Assist with preparation and review of spend for Tango partnership activities
- Participate in special projects as necessary, including implementing process improvement activities to enhance current financial processes and/or leveraging technology to increase effectiveness
- Perform ad hoc analysis and develop reports as needed including spending and headcount benchmarks
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required
What You Bring:
- BS/BA in accounting or finance; MS/MBA/CPA desired but not required
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Advanced level user in MS office particularly Excel and Power Point
- Experience with the following Finance systems preferred but not required: Adaptive Insights/Office Connect (Financial Planning), Prendio (Procurement), NetSuite (ERP)
- Financial statement knowledge and understanding of US GAAP
- Strong collaborative and leadership skills and ability to team cross-functionally.
