We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Management:
- Process and verify invoices for accuracy and appropriate approvals.
- Schedule and prepare payments, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Update and provide credit details to new vendors
- Management of AP approval software. Adding new users and document processing
- Sales Tax Filing:
- Calculate and file sales taxes in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Work with IT to update jurisdiction rate changes
- Journal Entries:
- Prepare and enter monthly journal entries.
- Maintain accurate and complete financial records.
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Internal Purchases Oversight:
- Manage the procurement process for internal purchases.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and budget constraints.
- Employee Management:
- Supervise and mentor accounts payable staff.
- Provide guidance and training as needed.
- Cross-Departmental Communication:
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Address and resolve any financial-related inquiries or issues.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience in accounting role
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
- Experience managing accounts payable and filing sales taxes.
- Proven ability to make journal entries and perform bank reconciliations.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with AS400 accounting software and/or SMRTR Solutions AP Essentials
- Familiarity with internal purchase processes and procurement policies.
