Role / Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle Software Engineer. The applications are web-based, image and workflow-enabled and support a broad range of Client activities.
Required skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (minimum 3 years experience in Information Technology)
- Minimum 3 years experience in Web deployed Oracle Forms and Reports development
- Minimum 3 years experience using Oracle databases
- Minimum 3 years experience in writing PL/SQL
- Minimum 3 years experience using software development methodologies to perform analysis, design, construction and implementation of custom software
Basic Qualifications
- 7 years quantitative and qualitative research experience
- Extensive supplier-side research experience
- Client-side research experience preferred, particularly in the Home Entertainment, Video Game, or other Packaged Goods industry
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong creative instincts and experience working with creative teams
- Strong multitasking capabilities, project management skills, and the ability to work effectively in an environment of tight deadlines and constant change
- Strong analytic skills and proven ability to research complex business issues
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to think out-of-the-box in developing methodological approaches to addressing business issues
- Knowledge of new technologies and the digital movie service provider landscape
- Currently responsible to the management of research staff
- Computer literate with proficiencies in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Responsibilities
- Overall, direct research projects from inception to completion, including the establishment of clear and concise objectives, development of appropriate methodologies, data analysis, report delivery, and presentation of findings
- Oversee movie-specific research for home entertainment releases including, but not limited to, Market Positioning Studies, Screenings (for direct-to-videos), Package Evaluations, Commercial Testing, Tracking, and Post-Street Studies
- Conduct annual and ad-hoc custom research projects (quantitative and qualitative) across a wide variety of topics (e.g., A&Us, emerging technology, franchise studies)
- Works closely with the vendor to manage three (3) online communities in the execution of research projects and dissemination/presentation of findings
- Participate in strategy meetings and conference calls with internal clients and research vendors
- For every study, ensure the timely delivery of research findings that provide actionable, strategic guidance to our internal clients
Required Education
- BA/BS in business, marketing, or psychology preferred
