Overview
Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking a Desktop Engineer to join our Service Delivery Team. As a Desktop Engineer you will create, configure, and maintain baseline Windows Operating System images for enterprise wide deployment to end user workstations. You will provide expert, quick, collaborative, and professional Tier 2 & Tier 3 technical support to scientists and administrative staff in an active environmental health research setting. What You'll Do
You will be responsible for:
- Creating, configuring, and maintaining baseline Windows 10 and Windows 11 Operating System Images for enterprise wide deployment to end user workstations including standard software.
- Creating and deploying patches and updates for Operating Systems and applications.
- Responding to image and application related issues escalated from Tier 1 & Tier 2 Service Desk Technicians.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Min 3 years of Windows PC support experience with experienced Tier 2 & Tier 3 level support a plus
- BS Degree or equivalent experience
- Proficient in supporting use of Microsoft O365 suite of tools including Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams
- Operating System image creation, maintenance, and deployment utilizing SCCM, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, and related tools
- Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory in an enterprise environment
- Experience with ServiceNow (or similiar ticking system)

Nice to Haves

- Knowledge or experience with JAMF is highly desired
- Experience providing support to a large (>1000) community of Windows PC users
- Documented Experience working in a scientific research environment is a plus
- Experience supporting both Windows and Mac platforms is a plus
- Experience documenting processes as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and in a Knowledgebase format
- Experience supporting customer remote access via VPN and Citrix
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, GPOs, and local machine policies
- Working knowledge of McAfee/ePO and BitLocker
- Experience supporting user account information including rights, security, and systems groups
- Experience supporting mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads
