IT Program Manager

Overview

In anticipation of an award, Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking an IT Operations Program Manager. You will be responsible for organizing, directing, and managing all aspects of contract operational support functions involving multiple complex and inter-related project tasks that often require managing teams of contractor personnel at multiple locations. Provide overall direction of program activities.  You will manage and maintain contractor interface with the senior levels of the customer’s organization. Consult with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverables, ensuring conformance with program and project task schedules and costs and contractual obligations. Establish and maintain technical and financial reports to show progress of projects to management and customers, organize and assign responsibilities to subordinates, oversee the successful completion of all assigned tasks, and assume the initiative and provide support to the OCIO and the various program offices. 

You will report directly to the Tantus Director, and work closely with our project leadership, federal counterparts, and COR to understand and fully support the needs of the client within the scope of our contract by bringing value through processes, systems, and projects. Availability of remote work subject to client guidelines.

What You'll Do

• Manage and communicate to the COR and CO the status of all tasks and deliverables 
• Manage change, risks, and contractor resources and budgets
• Apply ITIL v4 governance for problem management and incident resolution and continuous process improvement.
• Manage people resources (including subcontractors), including maintaining proper staffing levels, on-boarding, training, enforcing standards, mentoring and providing feedback, and communicating processes and procedures to staff

• Expected to apply and lead program and project life cycle management best-practices (PMBOK) as well as IT Service Management (ITIL v4) for a team of 20 – 25 employees.

• Thrive in an agile and fast-paced environment, and navigate ambiguity and competing priorities 
• Lead and drive IT operations and infrastructure initiatives
• Lead and evaluate project leads and other Contractor staff
• Assess program performance and aim to maximize return on investment
• Deliver the Technical Monthly Status Report, Financial Monthly Status Report, and invoice
• Resolve projects’ higher scope issues
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality and compliance requirements and are delivered on schedule to the Government
• Collaborate with the Government on senior strategic planning efforts at the CIO and ACIO levels
• Coordinate interconnected projects and coordinating cross-project activities

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in business or related field of expertise.
• Five (5) consecutive years of demonstrated successful management of multifaceted technical programs and Performance Work Statements.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or Eight (8) consecutive years of demonstrated successful management of multifaceted technical programs and Performance Work Statements.
• Certified ITIL.  
• Federal Contracts Experience required.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing complex contract program initiatives, change control processes, and managing diverse technical requirements.
• Experience writing reports for executive leadership.
• Ability to review and comprehend Service Level Agreements and requirements documents.
• Ability to analyze the performance of IT services using metric analysis tools.
• Experience interfacing with customers to gather and accurately interpret IT requirements.
• Experience delivering project management automated solutions to customers.
• Working knowledge of information technology terminologies.
• Excellent writing and documentation skills as it applies to the following:
  • Experience developing and using Work Breakdown Structures and Work Packages.
  • Familiarity with integrated project schedules and critical path management.
  • Familiarity with the development and use of System Development Life Cycle management methodologies.
