A role in Global Transportation and Logistics means you’ll focus on the efficient transportation of product from around the world into the United States. You’ll establish and develop great relationships with our carriers to ensure timely delivery to stores and guests. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for owning Target’s expedited shipping system and carrier partnerships. By managing complex processes, logistics and carrier relationships, you’ll work to ensure we meet our guests’ demand.
The Logistics Analyst plays a critical role on the team responsible for the management of freight transported through Target’s Domestic First Mile to all Target Distribution Centers, (RDC’s, FDC’s, FC’s, UDC’s) and 3rd Party Consolidators in a timely and cost-effective manner, (TL, IM, LTL, Backhaul). The Logistic Analyst holds 3rd party carriers responsible to high performance expectations and participates in deep root-cause problem solving as issues arise. Responsible for daily performance management of carriers and vendors through detailed scorecard management.
As a Logistics Analyst, you will be responsible for assessing and improving the guest requirements of our network working through a regional or national carrier. You’ll identify opportunities for efficiency and contribute to a strong culture of excellence by addressing performance defects discovered through data analysis and ensuring that clear expectations are set and met. Daily problem solving with internal and external parties to ensure freight is moving on time is key to ensure freight is available for our guests.
About You:
- 4 year degree or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within supply chain
- Ability to sort through data to identify root cause and leverage for problem solving
- Strong problem solving skills
- Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative; demonstrates ability to work independently
- Proven ability to performance management of 3rd party providers
- Project management experience
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to effectively communicate data insights to others
- Knowledge of JDA, Transportation Management Systems, and DOMO desired
