Tarpstop is a Midwest U.S.A.-based manufacturer of flat-bed tarps and tarping systems. We have four locations to serve our customers and a great selection of tarpaulin and cargo control products. We are looking for a Plant Manager to run the Gary, IN, location.
Overall Responsibility
Manages all areas of the facility to meet sales targets and deliver production and quality requirements of customers. Ensures proper procedures, polices and methods are being followed while maintaining profitability and a professional, safe work environment.
Responsibility Description
· Manages the overall performance, compliance, and maintenance of the facility. The Plant Manager is the “Face” of Tarpstop.
· Supports and promotes Tarpstop’s Mission, Vision and Core Values when working with employees, customers and the community.
· Responsible for the location hitting Key Process Indicators (KPI’s) and putting documented corrective actions in place when KPI’s are not being met.
· Ensures the facility is kept up in an orderly manner, everything is in its place and organized. Correct stock and materials are being ordered in a timely fashion to keep the facility running effectively.
· Ensures equipment and facilities are maintained at all times and all Tarpstop and customer equipment is secured from damage and theft.
· Coordinates between Sales and Production to ensure production is keeping up with demand and customers are being informed of proper delivery dates for work.
· Ensures customers are being serviced and followed up with in a timely manner.
· Ensures all policies and procedures are being adhered to in all areas.
· Works with Human Resources to ensure all employees are being trained, given performance reviews, and disciplined as needed and per company policy.
Preferred Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing Management or equivalent
· 10 years’ experience managing a facility where service is key to success
· 5 years’ experience in manufacturing
· Minimal overnight and offsite travel may be required
· Ability to manage and develop personnel
· Ability to delegate to department managers and work through them to meet branch KPI’s
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
· Must be accessible for the management team at all times
· Lead by example
