POSITION TITLE: Demand Planner
Position Summary:
At Tarter Farm and Ranch, the Demand Planner position is a critical role designed to optimize
our supply chain and enhance our ability to meet market demands efficiently. As an individual
contributor, you will be at the forefront of conducting statistical forecast modeling, deriving
actionable insights to guide strategic decisions, and facilitating seamless communication
between the Global Supply Chain (GSC) and Sales departments. This role is key to driving our
Customer Collaboration process, integrating consensus demand plans for our diverse range of
farm and ranch products and ensuring the precision of customer-specific demand forecasts.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
• Forecasting Excellence: Utilize forecasting tools/software to validate and refine
statistical models using best-fit forecasting algorithms. Ensure the models' accuracy by
conducting comparative analyses with existing plans and making necessary adjustments.
• Consensus Demand Planning: Lead the effort in harmonizing the consensus demand
planning process by providing robust statistical forecasts, generating insights, and
managing the Customer Collaboration process with key account managers.
• Insightful Analysis: Evaluate statistical demand forecasts and calculate forecast
accuracy metrics to inform customer-specific forecast adjustments.
• Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate closely with the Sales team to align on consensus
demand plans, identifying risks and opportunities, and fostering trusted relationships
with customers to obtain strategic business insights.
• Demand Driver Management: Regularly update and adjust demand driver inputs based
on feedback from key account managers, ensuring the inputs' accuracy and relevance.
• Model Optimization: Propose modifications to forecasting models and their parameters
to enhance forecast accuracy and minimize bias.
• Scenario Planning: Engage with key account managers to develop and model various
demand scenarios, facilitating productive customer collaboration meetings.
• Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide
immediate insights into forecast performance, enabling detailed analysis of underlying
causes.
• Demand Shaping: Work directly with key account managers to address demand
discrepancies or imbalances, shaping demand to align with strategic business objectives.
• Forecasting Integrity: Uphold the integrity and accuracy of all demand forecasting
models and inputs, taking full responsibility for the precision of the customer-specific
demand plan.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with forecasting, demand planning, and Sales & Operations
Planning (S&OP), preferably within the farm and ranch supply or similar industries.
• Robust business acumen and familiarity with the agricultural sector, with a strong
preference for candidates with direct experience.
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Skilled in the use of forecasting and planning software.

forecasting.
• Exceptional organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities with
efficiency.

datasets accurately.
