POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the QA Director, the Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive quality program at our facility. This role involves continuous improvement initiatives, quality control management, and the leadership of a team of quality control inspectors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the QA department in promptly addressing product inspections and quality-related issues.
- Implement and foster a culture of continuous improvement to enhance both quality and process efficiency.
- Develop and execute corrective and preventative action plans as required.
- Effectively manage customer warranty claims and report them to upper management when necessary.
- Conduct regular quality control meetings with management to address internal and external quality matters.
- Ensure the availability and adherence to manufacturing work instructions.
- Collaborate with the sales department to provide exceptional customer service.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for quality control inspectors.
- Maintain open communication with the Tarter engineering group to ensure optimal manufacturing processes.
- Oversee the tracking and calibration of in-house measuring equipment as needed.
- Mentor and develop the skills of the QA inspector team.
- Implement and maintain 5S processes throughout the plant.
- Test and verify equipment changes as required.
- Process Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA).
- Lead root cause analysis activities in response to customer and internal quality concerns.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing, engineering, or business-related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership and management experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Strong background in Quality Management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret and analyze engineering drawings to ensure product compliance with specifications.
- Proficient in product measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, protractors, height gauges, tape measures, etc.
- Experience with inventory software is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Working conditions are office environment and on the manufacturing floor. Minimal travel is required.
