Position Summary:
The purpose of Advancement Manager position is to engage external individuals and groups in ways that promote Tasks programs and services, as well as secure and maintain additional resources and relationships to advance the organization’s mission. This position is self-directed and generally makes tactical decisions that require analysis of current information to set a course of action. The Advancement Manager participates in extensive contact with civic groups, grant programs, corporations with giving programs, and current and potential donors. This person in this role also builds relationships with local media outlets, as well as promotes Tasks engagement and presence at community events and coordinates donor-facing special events.

Essential Job Functions:
Oversee and coordinate Tasks marketing and communications (30%):
  • Develop and implement annual marketing plans for Tasks
  • Lead and coordinate print, digital, and social media communications
  • Responsible for Tasks website and social media accounts, including content, updates, and future planning
  • Engage program participants and team members in highlighting and promoting the work and impact of Tasks
  • Implement annual donor engagement program, including mailings, events, and annual fundraising drives

Complete grant applications and manage follow-up activities (30%): :
  • Conduct full range of activities required to identify, evaluate, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to various sources and serve as an ongoing liaison to funders
  • Create shared calendar of grant application deadlines and grant cycles
  • Coordinate and gather information (budgets, materials, evaluation reports, etc.) to support grant requests and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with service team leadership and accounting/finance to track grant fulfillment

Lead all aspects of giving from individual major donors: and foundations (20%):
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects and donors, including foundations
  • Coordinate management system to support and guide major gift relationships
  • Manage current and prospective major donors and support the Executive Director in building relationships with these and other significant individual contributors

Oversees administrative development activities and :all aspects of individual giving from ongoing donors (20%):
  • Maintain donor records and ensure the accuracy and efficacy of the donor database
  • Manage gift acceptance and donor acknowledgment processes
  • Evaluate and track all efforts and progress toward goals, generating fundraising reports
  • Organize and manage fundraising special events

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, business administration, public policy, or similar fields.
  • At least five years of experience in a combination of the following areas:
  • Budgeting
  • Fundraising
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Nonprofit Management
  • Program Evaluation
  • Program Development
  • Professional Writing and Editing
  • Sales
  • Creative and Narrative Writing
  • Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.

Preferred:
  • - Graduate degree in in communications, nonprofit management, business administration, public policy, or similar fields -OR-
  • Certification or specialized training in digital marketing, public relations, communications, or media strategy

  • Mental Health/Mental Illness/Psychology: – General knowledge of mental health conditions and treatment; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research messages; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
  • Education and training: –Methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and measurement of training effects
  • Mathematics :–Arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications
  • Language :–Structure and content of language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Customer and personal service: –Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Sales and marketing: –Methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services; this includes marketing strategy, tactics, demonstrations, and techniques
  • Computers and electronics –: :Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software, including applications.
