Grocery Team Leader

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Grocery Team Leader is in charge of managing the day to day operations of a grocery department to meet the highest standards of quality and service to our
customers. The ability to create a comfortable, organized and properly managed team that will lead the market to a profitable and successful future. Ensuring our customers have a positive and comfortable shopping experience is our mission, and along with your mentoring and leadership we can guarantee success at the highest standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to model and provide exceptional guest service.
• Must have a love of natural, organic and specialty products.
• Ability to lead by example and set clear expectations.
• Must have vast grocery product knowledge.
• Able to oversee and train all proper rotation techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and computer savvy.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
• Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads, up to 67 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Model and provide exceptional guest service.
• Willing and able to train, mentor and coach Team Members to succeed.
• Must achieve maintain budgeted comps and margins.
• Effectively resolve guest issues.
• Monitor and control inventory and orders for the department.
• Must keep a current and accurate purchase journal.
• Oversee the sub department buyers purchase journals.
• Write an effective weekly labor schedule and adhere to the labor budget.
• Must meet all deadlines in terms of invoices, purchase journals, scheduling etc.
• Must track team member time and attendance.
• Prepare and administer discussion notes and written notices of discipline.
• Write and administer performance reviews.
• Effectively communicate with Guests, Team Members and Store Leadership.
• Communication with other department leaders to coordinate promotions, displays, ext.
• Quality control and damage control, making sure damaged products are handled in a proper fashion and credits are received in a timely fashion.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Education:

• Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

• Grocery: 3 years (Preferred)
• Management: 3 years (Preferred)
