What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Supervisor position at Tasteful Selections?
POSITION SUMMARY: The Shipping Supervisor in our Shipping department will be accountable to meeting daily and weekly shipping goals, while also meeting quality, accuracy, and safety objectives.
Relationships: The Shipping Supervisor will report directly to the Shipping Manager. In this role, the Shipping Supervisor will also be working with the Production Team, Quality Control, and Logistics Manager.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing all shipping and receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
- Teaching, training, and developing your team
- Put away process correctly
- Lead and direct receiving team to ensure orders are received and properly scanned
- Reduce load times
- Hold Team accountable
- Making sure all special request is completed
- Loading trucks (if needed)
- Run inventory reports
- Run pick sheets for orders for staging
- Paperwork for loading and shipping trucks
- Identifying areas of improvement
- Keep department cleaned and organized
- Any other tasks given by the Shipping Manager
Perform other duties assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1-2 years’ experience in a shipping / receiving supervisor role
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
- Ability to receive, track, and put away goods
- Ability to lead and train staff
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to drive standup forklift
- Solid knowledge of logistics procedures
- Problem solving abilities
- Must have strong time management skills with emphasis in meeting deadlines
- Excellent, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Experience in food manufacturing
