About the Job:

Taulia’s Risk and Compliance team is looking for an experienced, highly-engaged and dynamic individual to serve as our Customer Risk Analyst. As a Customer Risk Analyst, you will have direct ownership and accountability of customer risk assessment strategies. This includes oversight of eligibility rules and appropriate customer segmentations.

  • Provide analysis and interpretation of the customers’ financial and general business status for proper evaluation of risk and the establishment of appropriate controls.
  • Perform thorough due diligence of new and existing customers to reduce the potential loss due to fraud and creditworthiness.
  • Monitor portfolio of existing customer accounts for negative media coverage, decline in financial condition and other derogatory indicators.
  • Partner with multiple business functions including sales, product teams to ensure strategy is implemented accurately.
  • Develop and apply mathematical or statistical techniques to collect, organize and interpret data from multiple sources; develop best in class risk strategies.
  • Maintain customer database to facilitate workflows, reporting and analysis.
  • Help spearhead best in class documentation and audit controls surrounding the customer risk assessment strategies.
  • Monitor and communicate risk concerns to management.
  • Assist with determining needed risk management system enhancements and serve as a resource for determining and validating the proposed system enhancements.
  • May be required to interact with internal and external auditing groups.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required (advanced degree, such as MBA is preferred) with 8 years or more of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of specific experience with trade finance, commercial credit risk assessment or commercial loan underwriting.
  • Experience in assessing, validating, designing, or managing various risk management controls, automated monitoring systems, transaction monitoring, reporting, a plus.
  • Familiarity with KYC, sanctions, and BSA/AML rules and regulations a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
