Position Title:Director of CommunityHealth
Salary Grade: 18 (FullTime,Exempt)
Reports To: Administrator
EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:
Overseesthe development,implementation, and evaluation ofall the programswithin the CommunityHealth Division.
Monitorsforcomplianceofrules,regulations, and timeframesforprogramsadministered bythe CommunityHealth divisionaccording to State and Federalrequirements/guidelines.
Manages and developsappropriate protocols for all programswithin the division.
Providesdirection in thepreparation,writing, and annual submittal ofmultiple grantrequestsforthe CommunityHealth Division;monitorsgrantprogressto ensure grantrequirementsare being met;and submitsrequired reporting monthly and annually to the state and othercommunitySeeksalternative sources offundingforprogramservices.Writesgrantapplicationsdetermining appropriate use ofthegrantfunds.
Overseesthe division'sbudgetwhich includes:identifying budgetneedsanddeveloping grant/programbudgetsin conjunction with BusinessOperationsand theAdministrator/AssistantAdministrator;ensuringthatbudgetparametersare trackedand not
Establishes and /orapprovesprogrampriorities,procedures,and practiceswithin theDevelops short- and long-termgoals for staff to reflectstrategicplan,communityhealth improvementplan,and Tazewell CountyHealth Department'smission.Evaluatescurrentprocessesand makes recommendationsforchangesand/ornew processesimbedding qualityimprovementpractices/ideaswithin thedivision.
Servesas a leadershipteammemberwith otherdirectorsin establishing directionand leadership within the
Exercisesperformancemanagementpracticeswithin the CommunityHealth divisionsuch asreviewing applicants,hiring and dismissing personnel,staffevaluations,stafftraining etc.
Implementsthe "Core functionsofPublic Health Service"working collaborativelywithdepartmentgroups,communityagencies,governmentand private entitiesassuringcoordination ofservicesand to achieve positivecommunityhealth outcomes.
Participatesin development,implementation, and evaluation ofthe Department'sstrategicplan and the CommunityHealth Improvement
Attendsprofessional meetingswithin and outside the countyrepresenting theDepartmentatotheragencies' meetingsand on boards and advisory
Evaluatesnew and existing School programming forsuitabilityand in order to assessthe need forchanges,using informationsuch asaudience surveys and
Receive and respond to staffing needs24/7 via the program call-in / emergency
Actsas a liaison between TCHD and Tazewell Schools,providing and attainingnecessaryinformation thatisneeded to run the School programs.
Coordinateshealth promotional activities with all health departmentdivisions,asnecessaryand mutuallydetermined with division directors.
Organizesandstaffs'publichealth eventslikehealth fairs,displays, and
Maintainsconfidential personal information thatmustbe safeguarded to preventdamage to client'slivesorreputations;Utilizessound judgment and caution incommunicationswith individualsinside and outside the Department.
Strong focuson being strategic,problemsolving,and being solution-focused
Educationand/orExperience:
Bachelor'sdegree inPublicHealth,SocialSciences,orrelated field
Two yearsprogrammanagementexperience,including planning,budgeting,andstaffing required.
Proven leadership skillsand managementexperience,including the ability to develop teamperformance and to coach/mentor
Experience working with community-based coalitions and organizations,communitycapacitybuilding efforts,technical experience,and group facilitation
Hours:37.5 hoursperweek,Monday - Friday8:30-4:30,hoursmayvaryaspositionrequires6:30 am - 6:00pmavailability.Eveningsand weekendeventsasneeded.
Pay Range:$35.07-$43.80
