Overview:
Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots all manufacturing equipment that supports the Logistics Department to ensure the department meets all company policies, environmental regulations, and customer requirements. All mechanics will effectively troubleshoot all equipment to determine needs of repairs for non-conforming pars and/or systems. Document and maintains paperwork for maintenance according to regulations and company requirements. All mechanics will comply with company policies on safety standards, proper use of equipment, tools, processes, and procedures.

All duties performed in a safe and acceptable manner as evaluated by the immediate supervisor and with management concurrence. Employee represents the best principles and professionalism of Tropicana. All mechanics are directly responsible and accountable for meeting their team’s daily production schedule as assigned. All mechanics will deliver on the following performance criteria:
Safety
- Safely maintain all Logistics Department equipment to meet production and/or maintenance schedules
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met
- Meet or exceed all safety standards including but not limited to; LOTO, HWP, Confined Space
- Must adhere to PPE requirements set forth by the department
- Ensure all safety rules, procedure, policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed
- Participate in department safety audits, meetings, and department walk-throughs
- Ensure reliable and safe operation of equipment through troubleshooting and maintenance
- Comply with company policy on safety standards, proper uses of equipment, tools, processes and procedures
Quality
- Meets or exceeds quality standards on all work that is performed and recognizes quality as a key element of customer satisfaction and meeting business goals.

Technical
- Perform equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency maintenance to ensure all Logistics Department’s equipment is running at peak performance and to quality standards
- Meet acceptable time standards and efficiencies as established by industry standards and communicated by Lead/Planner.
- Identify problems with equipment / systems, determine the root cause and take corrective action.
- Must be able to identify and order parts on emergency work and during off-shift hours without a Lead/Planner on site.
- Perform total production manufacturing (TPM) to include: AM, PM, FI, OCCI, EM and HSE pillar teams as required
- Must be able to use predictive maintenance tools to implement and exercise needed improvements
- Must be willing to effectively participate in Why-Why & 7-step process meetings to eliminate losses or waste, to include safety issues
- Effectively troubleshoot complete system, including equipment and components. Determine needs and repairs non-conforming parts and / or systems.
- Will be required to learn and use multi computer skills which are paramount to the team’s success
- Must be willing to help the Lead/Planner deliver and document maintenance work correctly & on time
Communication:
- Establish communication with Lead/Planner, Operations Lead, and/ or supervisor to minimize downtime and maintain constant production levels.
- Must effectively coordinate with other resources inside and outside of the Logistics Department to assist in maintenance work; especially during off-shift and weekend hours.
- Must be able to develop detailed training, SOPs, and certifications, revise training manuals and determine training requirements
- Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by supervisory, management and union representatives
Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma or hold a GED
- 1 year maintenance mechanic experience
- 1 year fabrication experience
- 1 year welding experience
- Basic electrical knowledge required
- Must possess all required hand tools, meters, and test gauges; and be fluent in operation of all required power tools including welding without supervision
- Must be able to use LOTO, HWP, Confined Space procedures and recognize unsafe conditions and make immediate corrective action
- Use of respirator as required
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and work indoors in hot and cold environments
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, determine cause and resolve problems and work independently without assistance/supervision
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing; and the ability to read and interpret technical manuals
- Must be able to work with computer software including but not limited to INFOR, Outlook, Word, Excel, Zarpac, OITs, HMIs, etc.
- Must be proficient and able to train others in classroom and hands on type training
- Must be able to twist, reach, bend, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, push 50 pounds, pull 50 pounds and climb to accomplish necessary repairs
- Must be able to demonstrate teamwork, share information freely, cooperate with others, listen and encourage others and ask for input from others and acknowledge others skills, experience and contributions
- Must be willing to work off of your regular shift to provide technical support and training for the team and department
- Job will require overtime, which could include more than 40 hours per week, 7 days a week and up to 16 hour days

Pay for this position is $29.11/hr
