Description
General Responsibilities:
The role of the Ramp Controller is to coordinate the aircraft traffic on ramps 3 and 4 through the performance of a variety of duties as dictated by operational requirements.
Major Responsibilities and Functions:
Provide safe ramp management and control functions for Ramps 3 and 4.
Provide commercial pilots with pushback and taxi instructions using accepted radio telephony; actively interacting with FAA personnel to determine RNAV runway assignments and configurations.
Act as an extension of the City of Atlanta, Department of Aviation and ATL partner airlines.
Coordinate and conduct irregular operations for arriving and departing flights.
Responsible for the life-safety of taxiing aircraft and diligent vigilance for personnel exposed to the effects of engine blasts.
Comply with F.A.R. regulations and operational requests from the FAA, City of Atlanta Department of Aviation and ATL partner airlines.
Assure compliance with minimum standards and regulations relating to all tenants including airline and ramp procedures.
Record aircraft arrivals, departures and other data.
Maintains working environment and equipment in clean, neat and orderly manner.
Performs other tasks as may be assigned.

Take all reasonable and necessary precautions to ensure personal health and safety, as well as that of co-workers and any other person(s).
Report immediately to management, all unsafe and unhealthy conditions.
Report immediately to management, all occurrences that cause injury or damage to any person or property.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
High school diploma or the equivalent. College degree or active college student preferred.
Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact and represent the company with airport tenants, state and federal authorities, and other organizations on a professional level.
Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license within 30 days of employment and an acceptable driving record.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other TBI employees, airline employees and federal/state agencies.
General knowledge of computer applications, software and hardware.

Physical Effort:
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, bending, standing, climbing or walking. Walking and standing for extended periods of time are required throughout the course of daily activities.
Mental Effort:
Operations is dynamic and situations may require immediate attention.

Normal Working Hours:
The normal working hours for this position will vary by shift. Coverage will be provided on a 24-hour basis in continuous and overlapping shifts.
