JOB SUMMARY |
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions. The Accounts Payable Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining positive relationships with vendors, processing invoices, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Receive, review, obtain approvals, and process invoices from vendors or suppliers for goods and services.
- Verify invoice for accuracy, matching with purchase orders and contracts, and comply with company policies.
- Enter invoice details into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and process payments to vendors, which includes issuing checks, electronic transfers, or processing credit card payments.
- Process employee expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
- Review and approve expense reports in Concur.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve payment inquires and discrepancies.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries and assist in month-end closing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in the accounts payable process.
- Review and process daily timecards from manufacturing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES |
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist
- Strong proficiency in using accounting software Oracle and excel
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

As required by law in this state, the quoted salary range for this position is $70,000 - $84,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate's experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
