Finance - Junior Accontant

Summary:Apply generally accepted accounting principles to the management of capital assets. Performs accounting functions as assigned, including but not limited to the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and roll forward schedules. Leverage experience and knowledge of processes and procedures over transactions for cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and liabilities as part of the timely and accurate compilation of financial statements. Ensure that there is compliance over proper SOX controls. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.1. Reconcile bank accounts and subsidiary accounts to ensure cash transactions are properly recordedReconcile daily cash receipts activity to bank account and AR sub ledger, resolving any reconciling differences to ensure no unresolved items by month end. Month end closing activities, including the following: reparation, verification and input of journal entries. PReconciliation of some balance sheet items Monitoring of customer rebates including monthly accruals, processing of invoices from GPO programs and coordination of audits as needed Accounts payable setup for new vendors Customer return reporting .Other duties as assigned by Controller Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:Four Year degree in accounting or equivalent experience.Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and understand accounting cycles and process flows as they relate to individual business transactions. Position requires high organizational skills and attention to detail. Computer Skills: Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel.Experience with ERP financial systems, such as Canopy or JD Edwards.
