As the Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing and managing Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) schedules in Primavera P6 for a portfolio of projects. This position reports to multiple construction managers for the prime contractor and coordinates with nearly all project stakeholders to develop detailed, Critical Path Methodology (CPM) schedules.
The Scheduler will be a key player as a member of the contractor's construction management team and be exposed to various working teams to drive project success through the entire life cycle.
Your Day-to-Day Activities:
- Attend a variety of meetings and visit the construction site periodically to support the development of accurate project schedules
- Prepare scheduling submittals on behalf of the contractor, including the baseline submittal and subsequent monthly schedule updates
- Prepare narratives for each schedule submittal coving of progress, critical path, risks, and other metrics
- Provide verification of activity duration and workflow logic
- Verify activity start, completion, and progress through the review of field and inspection reports or other correspondence
- Prepare lookahead schedules to identify potential issues
- Provide schedule performance reporting to the owner and provide schedule updates to the project team for stakeholder coordination and communication purposes
- Review of payment applications and their correlation to the cost loaded schedule.
- Prepare time-impact analyses (TIA's) and recovery schedules as needed
- Provide claims support as needed
- Develop and maintain tactical schedules as needed
You'll be prepared for this job if you have…
- A Bachelor's degree
- Five plus years of work experience in project management, construction management, engineering, or similar field
- Strong Primavera P6 scheduling experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
You'll stand out if you have…
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or similar certification
- Experience with preparing and reviewing TIA's and supporting the contractor/owner with claims
- A natural tendency for taking ownership and a willingness to lead
