Job Description

TDI Technologies, Inc. is seeking candidates for a Database Administrator position. The position’s main responsibility will be to support development of project for data management, reporting, and maintenance in the Navy’s Logistics Department. This position will support a small team working with a customer to define use cases, requirements, and design a cloud based system. The position will require balancing performance with cybersecurity constraints for web development, database interface, and cloud hosting. Applicants must be comfortable working with teams, interfacing with users and customers, and have a strong technical mastery of software development, test, and fielding.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support development of a new application, analysis of the use cases of the current system, identify opportunities to optimize design, integrate new tools and features, and streamline user experiences
  • Develop in an agile environment as part of a small team
  • Interface with project management and other stakeholders to evaluate design tradeoffs
  • Ensure that designs are conducive to maintenance, future feature additions and enhancements, support testing, and documentation of code
  • Provide software test support and analyze test results
  • Provide technical input to the design of future user interfaces and system features
Job Requirements


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five (5) years of experience in Oracle Database Administration. Oracle Database Certification and experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification Requirements: A CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network CE, SSCP


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants who are eligible to receive a US government security clearance are preferred
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US


ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Ability to develop in Oracle
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong User Interface design and implementation capability
  • Leading teams and ensuring meeting project timelines, quality requirements, and customer expectations
  • Familiarity with software development approaches and ensuring effective requirements and bug tracking using tools such as JIRA, Clearquest, etc.
  • Familiarity with software baselines using version control tools such as SubVersion or Git
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail for documentation
  • Familiarity with waterfall and agile software development practices


Travel:

This position may require up to approximately 5% travel.

Location:
Philadelphia, PA. (Remote support may be available but meetings in Philadelphia may be required)
