What are the responsibilities and job description for the Monitoring Analyst position at TDI?
Position Summary
We are looking for a Monitoring Analyst to join us and directly support the production of client deliverables within the firm's Analytics unit. The successful candidate is expected to quickly conduct investigative research and analysis—using open sources and proprietary resources—to identify and report pertinent regulatory and reputational matters related to our Clients and their distributors, agents, and other third parties. Candidates will be asked to complete a diagnostic test to assess these capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor international media coverage using a range of open-source and proprietary data sources to gather coverage from print, digital, television, radio, and social media, as well as metadata related to these sources.
- Produce concise, Client-ready deliverables and sources of information.
- Maintain thorough and organized task-related documentation
- Manage and understand multiple Client-specific requests with competing deadlines.

- Exceptional research, writing, and analysis skills, including the ability to quickly and concisely summarize complex issues.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Superior time management skills, including the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously in a deadlines-driven environment.

Desired Skills and Knowledge
- Background in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques.
- Professional proficiency in a second language such as Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, or Arabic.
- Professional experience and familiarity with the Microsoft Office 365 suite – beyond the basic capabilities of Outlook, Word, and Excel – is a plus
- Experience with data visualization tools, web scraping tools, Agile / Scrum processes, or languages such as R or Python is a plus.
Required Experience
- At least 1-2 years of relevant professional experience, specifically conducting open-source research, writing client deliverables, and/or conducting data analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, criminology, regional studies, business, or related area of study.
- Professional fluency in English required.
