We’re hiring a Farm Irrigation Technician to be based in Aberdeen, South Dakota. In this role you will be working independently maintaining 31 center pivots within 130 miles of Aberdeen. You will be working each year to get pivots ready for the season, perform maintenance during the growing season and prep them for winter at the end of the season. You will be troubleshooting electrical and mechanical repairs. You will be communicating with the owners on progress and if additional team members are needed on occasion.

This job might be for you if you have:
- Strong experience in mechanical and electrical repair; experience with pivots preferred but not required for an individual who brings similar skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to primarily work independently
- Willing to work extended hours during peak season
- Ability to physically work on your feet, climb ladders and lift up to 80 pounds
- Strong problem-solving skills
What you would be doing:
- Get pivots running and keep maintained throughout the season
- Perform basic repairs and troubleshooting such as swapping gear boxes, changing tires, clearing nozzles, fixing leaks, motor repair etc.
- Get pipes and pumps in and out of the river for each season
- Work with third party on any large electrical repairs
- Set-up and run fertigation pumps and tanks as needed in growing season
- Maintain the irrigation parts inventory
- Ability to assist in other areas of the farm, especially in the winter season assisting with projects in the shop
