Overview Provides support to Field Technicians by building and maintaining ILI inspection tools. Maintains a clean, orderly work area to facilitate timely turnaround of tools. Responsibilities Uses welder to produce brushes to established specifications. Performs first inspection and corrects any anomalies before passing to final inspection. Modifies cups, disks and studs by using standard power and hand tools to ensure tool meets specifications. Uses appropriate lifting devices, loads the tools, launching trays, hand tools, portable tool supporting and lifting equipment, etc., into the technician vehicle in preparation for tool run. Unloads tools when returned and moves to appropriate storage location. Maintains database of tool disbursement, return and product use in the Tool History database to ensure accurate information is in place to identify tool status and availability. Maintains a clean, orderly work area by cleaning work area on a daily basis. Uses floor sweeper to clean and mop shop area on a weekly basis. As needed, changes oil absorbent floor covering in tool prep area. Works under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, disassembles tools and cleans in preparation for next tool run, applying appropriate cleaning procedures based on type of tool being cleaned. Works under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, assists with the assembly of MFL and DEF ILI inspection tools. Minimum successful completion will be 20 each assembly of MFL and DEF tools during 6 month measurement period. Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer mechanical or electronics training. Good mechanical aptitude. Able to convert between decimals and fractions. Familiar with the safe application of small power and hand tools such as drills, hand and table saws, grinders, etc. Understands the use of proper lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts to move tools within shop area.
