Overview Manages the maintenance and/or personally maintains the following systems: Payroll for all U.S. and Canadian employees. Prepares routine and /or special reports as required. Responsibilities Leads payroll activities for all U.S. based employees, ensuring timely and accurate payment of all wages and earnings by staff. Leads payroll activities for all Canada based employees, ensuring timely and accurate payment of all wages and earnings by staff. Helps with annual 401K audit in conjunction with the HR Benefits team Coordinates with external resources related to garnishments, mobility packages, etc… Works in conjunction with Human Resources to maintain the computerized payroll system ensuring its accuracy Responsible for preparation of W-2's and T-4’s, and oversees filing of all U.S. and Canadian tax reports as quarterly and annual requirements dictate, while coordinating with 3rd party payroll management provider. This will also include reporting for Expats. Prepares standard journal vouchers for payroll. Reconciles the general ledger accounts for employee receivables, payroll, payroll tax and benefit accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting. Completes special projects as assigned by management personnel. Coordinates all activities related to payroll, payroll tax preparation, ensuring the effectiveness and adequacy of accounting and control systems, Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures and local legal requirements, Leads the development of reporting processes, procedures & systems, the preparation of reports for internal customers, ensuring that the information provided is timely and accurate, Identifies and implements process improvements related to all functional areas. Collaborates with Internal Managers to answer question related to monthly departmental general ledger activity Coordinates the day to day transactional activities of the payroll department. Assesses employee training needs and provides guidance. Supervises 2-3 employees. Leads the continuous improvement process in the team. Reports to the Finance Manager, Corporate Services Interfaces with internal Western Hemisphere business partners to achieve internal customer satisfaction, specifically HR. Also provides valued relationships with external providers such as EY, ADP, PWC etc Maintains strong partnerships with customers by understanding and responding to their needs and requirements, Ensures that solutions are supplied which meet customer’s business needs. Experience Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent preferred with a minimum of 5 to 10 years payroll experience, with working knowledge to include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger. Strong Leaderships skills Experience in working with the following computerized systems: P/R, G/L, Workday, and ADP Current knowledge of federal and state and Canadian tax laws as it relates to these functions, Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products Ability to interface with all levels of management and first line personnel.
