BSET, LLC is recruiting for the position of IT Systems Administrator. This is a full-time position located in San Diego, CA. This position reports to the Director of National Security Initiatives.
JOB SUMMARY: The IT System Administrator for this US Navy PMW 130, NAVWAR, position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the organization's IT systems, networks, and applications. The individual will work closely with the technical team and management to ensure that all systems are up-to-date and functioning optimally. This role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and applications, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal system functionality. The IT System Administrator works closely with other technical team members and management to identify and implement system upgrades and improvements. Responsible for managing user accounts, permissions, and access levels to ensure system security. This involves working with management to establish access policies, ensuring that security protocols are followed, and staying up-to-date with the latest security threats and best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating system servers
- Install, configure, and maintain a number of dedicated Windows workstations (OS, software, applications).
- Perform account and access management for multiple servers, specified applications and databases.
- Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages in accordance with the Program Management Office guidelines and release announcements.
- Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Promote standard operating procedures.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting multiple enterprise level applications - this includes cloud based and on-prem applications
- Monitoring systems and pre-emptively addressing issues
- Keen focus on backup and disaster recovery, including disaster recovery planning and preparedness
- Supporting local government department systems and direct liaison with end-users
- Overseeing the deployment of new enterprise applications
- Managing and maintaining Active Directory
- Using group policy to automate the configuration of user systems and security
- Liaising with vendors on server software and hardware specification.
- Apply established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines, including DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Perform other IT duties as required by the government.
COMPETENCIES:
- Familiarity with network protocols, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT system administration.
- IAT Level II certification is required, minimum Security CE
- Must be adept at problem solving, identifying risk, and communicating results and recommendations to the task lead and lab manager
- This level is intended to coincide with DoD 8570.01M IAT/IAM/IASAE Level II and the Contractor must comply with the associated qualification and certification requirements.
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance; prefer a Top-Secret clearance
