What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Legal - US position at Teads?
Teads is seeking experienced legal counsel to manage commercial transactions and a variety of other business and privacy matters. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of relevant legal experience with a strong background in contract drafting and negotiation in the advertising and media industry. The candidate will also have experience in privacy regulations.
The position reports to Teads’ General Counsel & DPO who is France-based.
Responsibilities include:
- Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial agreements including master services agreements, license agreements, vendor agreements, NDA, and data processing agreements.
- Advise business and cross-functional stakeholders on legal issues, compliance matters, and negotiation strategies.
- Support the finance, facilities, and HR departments when appropriate.
- Be a key contributor to our legal team’s efforts in the preparation and implementation of our legal processes, policies, templates, practices, and related training.
- Consult with and manage outside counsel.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of relevant legal and privacy experience, with an in-house role at a technology company, ideally in the advertising and media industry (AdTech).
- Demonstrated experience with drafting and negotiating intellectual property, warranty, indemnity, and liability clauses as well as privacy matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, work in a fast-paced environment, and effectively communicate legal issues and policies to senior management.
- High degree of independence, initiative, and decisiveness.
- Great business and practical legal judgment.
- JD and/or LLM with a license to practice law.
- Fluency in English is required, other languages are a plus.
