Job Summary:
A tutor is responsible for performing all aspects of tutoring for the specific discipline.
Essential Functions:

Tutoring and Student Support · Meets with students individually or in groups on an established basis in a classroom setting · Carefully listens to student requests and provides positive feedback · Offers support to encourage student learning · Performs basic administrative duties to support the daily operations of the tutoring program · Maintains student confidentiality as required by FERPA and reports any violation to supervisor immediately |
Curriculum and Technology · Supports students enrolled in the discipline and related courses · Identifies appropriate supplemental teaching materials to assist a student with accomplishing required learning objectives |
Supports Academic Personnel · Discusses student progress with instructor and appropriate academic staff · Provides oral and written reports, as required, including reporting through the TCSG early alert system |

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time tutor position. Candidate would work 10 – 20 hours per week in a multi-campus setting, and the expected hours of work would occur during the day/evening, Monday – Friday.
Travel:
Travel to other campuses may be required to attend meetings, trainings, and professional development.
Required Education and Experience:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Professional Accountancy or Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (ex: Business Administration, Management, Finance/Taxation, Economics, Business Education, Business Law, Accounting Information Systems, Economics, Accounting and Financial Management, Accounting and Information Technology) from an accredited institution
· Valid driver’s license
Preferred Education and Experience:
· Master’s degree in Accounting
· Satisfactory completion of Legal Environment/Regulations component of CPA certification
· Certifications (Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Certified Payroll Professional, Certified Tax Preparer)
· Teaching experience at the postsecondary level
· Directly related field experience
· Online teaching experience
