What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elections Systems Intern position at Team Georgia Careers?
JOB SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, the Elections Systems Intern works as an integral part of a team on multiple projects including, but not limited to: handling state-wide voting equipment rollout; managing voter registration databases; and updating election night reporting systems. This position supports the mission of the Office of the Secretary of State to ensure secure and fair elections in Georgia.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support in the management of user database in voter registration & equipment systems
• Support in preparation of election night reporting tools & systems
• Provide technical support to Elections Systems & Data team
• Support the development & training efforts for new voter registration system
• Read, interpret, and apply technical data
• Follow established chain of custody procedures in accordance with legal requirements and any additional Elections Division policies
• Collaborate with acceptance testers and members of the Elections Systems & Data team to prepare systems and equipment for county utilization. This may include facilitating logistics around distribution of certified units
• Send official email communications to County Election Officials on behalf of the SOS Elections Division in reference to multiple projects
• Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in handling technology, especially iPad, is highly required. Experience with Election System(s) and/or Voter Registration System(s) is desirable.
High School graduate and (2) years of higher education and/or relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s degree or some college from a nationally accredited college or university a related study or an associate degree or associate degree with (1) year of higher education and/or relevant work experience.
