Purpose: Responsibility for the development, maintenance and controlling of the attributes within the TEAM Quality Management System. Work directly with suppliers, customers, and all areas of the production process to ensure product quality meets or exceeds specifications as determined by drawings or the customer.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to the safety program.
May assist die cast, machining, and/or assembly operations in day to day quality issues as they arise
May work with Engineering and Production to disposition quarantined parts and resolve issues
Problem Solving and root cause analysis
May create corrective action reports based on 6D, 5Why and other analysis tools for internal and external customer issues
May assure the implementation of corrective actions is sustained
May work with the Supplier Quality Engineer to interface with suppliers on quality issues and coordinating actions to resolve issues in a timely manner
May participate in Material Review Board to review suspect parts and to disposition rejected parts and material
May assist in processing PPAP's for customers
May complete and submit PPAP’s to various internal and external TEAM customers
May actively participate in APQP meetings, interfacing with all engineering functions to launch new or revised product with proven capability and repeatability to meet all customer requirements
May conduct GR&R and machine capability studies
May mentor production workers in their efforts to improve quality and understand their role in the quality management system
May report defects utilizing the non-conformance form and process
Ability to regularly meet or exceed efficiency requirements
Actively participates in CIP events to improve the safety, quality, and efficiencies of our current processes and procedures
Support and positively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Communicates with supervisor and co-workers in a professional manner
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
4 year degree in Engineering preferred or related education and 2- 3 years of related experience preferred
Experience with GD&T, Measurement System Analysis (MSA) preferred
Experience with APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, SPC, Process Capability preferred
Experience working with die casting, metal machining, and/or assembly preferred
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to follow work instructions
Must be able to vary work hours to meet requirements
Ability and experience working with blueprints and small lettering on prints and computer monitors
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
Must be able to interface with customers and suppliers in a team approach to resolve issues and strengthen relationships
Ability to work effectively with stress and pressure
Ability to deal with complex problem solving and simplification
Knowledge of applications in Lean Manufacturing tools: Mistake-Proofing, Waste Elimination
