OVERVIEW:
The Director of the EIT Project Management Organization is a key member of TeamHealth’s EIT leadership team and directs and oversees the EIT Program Management Office to ensure programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements. The PMO Director is expected to develop and implement processes and policies, direct project management staff, and work with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and execute projects and programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- PMO Oversight: Establish the EIT Project Management Organization and operating model by setting standards for project management capabilities, including certifications and qualifications for project managers, success measurement criteria, policies, processes, artifact templates, and tools. Facilitate a Community of Practice to nurture project managers and share knowledge and best practices
- Effective Communication: Demonstrate best-in-class communication targeting different levels of the organization, including technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leaders. Proactively coach project managers to communicate effectively to different audiences
- Disciplined Execution: Establish defined, repeatable processes for project management activities and hold project managers accountable for detailed project plans, resource planning, task-level assignment tracking, budget tracking, earned value assessments, and regular status updates
- Leadership: Oversee the delegation of work to project managers and support their delivery of initiatives on time, within scope, and on budget. Ensure the EIT Project Management Organization meets performance targets aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives, while adhering to best practices
- Teamwork: Lead the EIT Project Management Organization, including direct and indirect reports. Establish a culture of teamwork and cooperation with a diverse team of project managers with different levels of experience, backgrounds, and project management approaches. Must be able to accomplish goals working through multiple indirect relationships
- Value Creation: Provide executive leaders with the information needed to assess which proposals have the highest potential for value creation, organizational impact, and strategic alignment
- Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain a formal project management strategic plan that includes mission and vision, values and priorities, structural components, communication plan, development opportunities, staffing and resource planning, and measures of success
- Collaboration: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and how best to meet them. Partner with EIT and business leaders to define project priorities, align implementation approaches, and identify potential challenges. Solicit feedback on opportunities to improve project management processes and policies
- Best Practices and Continuous Improvement: Remain current with industry best practices and identify how those methods might be applied in TeamHealth’s specific environment. Develop and maintain project management policies and procedures that are clear and simple to adopt at appropriate levels of the organization
- Responsible for maintaining and updating skills by participating in educational opportunities consistent with the technologies and methodologies established at TeamHealth
- Responsible for completion of all documentation processes and project and time tracking efforts in a timely manner
Job Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, organizational management, or other related field preferred
- A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in project management, line management, and/or consulting leadership roles
- Five (5) - seven (7) years of experience leading business analysis and projects
- Hands-on experience leading large-scale change initiatives across the full lifecycle of strategy, planning, requirements definition, design, and delivery
- Highly organized, with demonstrated track record in a program management office environment
- Exceptional strategic planning, influencing, and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation)
- Strong interpersonal communication skills required, including the ability to work diplomatically with a diverse workforce
- Resourcefulness, ingenuity, and maturity in decision making and problem solving
- Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision.
- Proven track record in creating and developing effective and high performing teams
- High change agility, strong change management skills, and stakeholder management skills
- Patience and ability to excel under pressure, handling multiple requests often with tight deadlines
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Six-Sigma certifications preferred
- Experience in project management and office applications including Smartsheet and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Salary : $94,800 - $120,000
