DISPATCHER
SUMMARY
TeamOne Logistics has partnered with Holland Transfer Co and is seeking an organized and efficient Dispatcher to join our dynamic team in Statesville NC. Accountable for coordinating the movements of trucks leaving and entering terminals. Communicate with truck drivers through phones and electronic logs and apps. Make sure drivers leave and arrive on schedule. Must be available at all times to answer any questions from drivers, help them avoid traffic jams and keep them aware of inclement weather ahead. Monitor hours of service for each driver before at all times. Responsible for customer service activities, procedures and other daily tasks important to Dispatch’s success. Will also be responsible for the review and processing of orders and complete execution for all shipments in their respective portfolio ensuring timely delivery.
RESPONSIBILTIES
· Checking drivers in and out of terminals and transferring the trip records into company files.
· Keeping track of the progress that drivers make along their route by Samsara and check calls.
· Handling any requests and complaints from customers.
· Become proficient in the use of software systems Prophesy & PC Miler
· Prepares frontend portion of Customer Billing and Driver Payroll in Prophesy software.
· Maintain and monitor bills of lading, trip sheets, driver logs and preparing reports.
· Insuring detention, lumper charges and any other discrepancies are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
· Extensive knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the Department of Transportation (DOT).
· Full knowledge of dispatch practices, scheduling, and computerized record keeping skills.
· Handling of any specific accounts assigned and becoming a knowledgeable and competent backup where necessary.
· Communicating effectively and clearly to drivers.
· Ability to negotiate carrier rates
· Effectively performing all job responsibilities while under pressure.
· Flexible availability to perform on-call duty as assigned by operations manager.
· Requires strong geographical knowledge as well as a clear understanding of how rates are affected for different geographical areas versus time of year and seasonal conditions.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
· Any combination of education, training, and/or experience which demonstrate the ability to perform the required duties. At least two years of experience as a transportation dispatcher are preferred.
· Strong initiative to solve issues and resilience to overcome barriers
· PC skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe
· Energetic and open to new ideas and direction changes
· Strong oral and written communications skills
· Exceptional organizational skills and ability to set priorities
· Team player able to working in an open environment
· Ability to understand and apply problem solving and quality improvement processes
· History of community involvement a plus but not required
· Exemplary negotiation skills.
· Must be determined and resolute.
