Technical Support Specialist
Morrisville, NC
Your contribution:
Serves customers by providing direct technical support to all Tecan customers, Tecan Sales and Automation Engineers. Supports Quality Systems and Quality Policies by following procedures, work instructions, and proper documentation to meet quality system regulations and ISO requirements.
Answers customer and Tecan staff technical inquiries via telephone, e-mail and/or voice mail. If inquiry/problem cannot be resolved, then dispatches Field Automation Engineer to customer site for resolution. Follow-up is required through resolution.
Interacts with customers and internal personnel to document circumstances and conditions that result in a complaint.
Arranges for shipment of parts or instruments to customer sites and ensures RSO’s are properly returned and tracked.
Rotates cell phone coverage with other Technical Support Specialists.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge of instruments and products by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
May assist in trade shows or training as needed.
Handles essential tasks as assigned and responds to change productively.
Follows all local safety procedures, State and Federal OSHA Regulations, and reports any safety concerns.
Your background
BA or BS in, Biology, Chemistry, Medical technology, Robotics, Automation or related fields or equivalent experience
1-2 years automation/instrumentation experience desired.
Working knowledge of Windows Applications.
Ability to work well under pressure, to multi-task
Strong organizational skills
Strong follow-up skills.
Ability to get the job done in a manner that reflects the business expectations.
High level of commitment and initiative.
Professional phone etiquette required.
Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups inside and outside of the organization.
Ability to work effectively with customers.
Ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to travel up to 2 nights per month.
Retains a valid driver’s license.
Dependability is a must .
Excellent written and oral communication skills (including legible handwriting).
