What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at TECH 2000?
CURRENTLY SEEKING - ENTRY-LEVEL LAB TECHNICIANS
TECH 2000 is currently seeking entry-level lab technicians for several assignments at our client facilities in the Pasadena area.
Job specific details will vary by client location but typical shift is an 8-10 hours days schedule and the pay range is $18/hr dependent on experience and qualifications.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a science discipline (degree in Chemistry is preferred)
- Academic experience with analytical instrumentation (including but not limited to GC, HPLC, & ICP) and any wet chemistry techniques
- 0-1 year of industrial experience is preferred but any experience is helpful!
Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical testing in the laboratory on routine and non-routine samples
- Analyze petroleum samples on instrumentation such as ICP, Karl Fischer, flashpoint, viscosity, etc.
- Accurately input all data into LIMS system and record test results in a legible manner in designated logbooks.
- Conduct job tasks in a professional manner utilizing good housekeeping practices and laboratory technique.
- Accurate review and generate customer COAs.
- Retain all finished samples and maintain retain storage in orderly condition.

- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Identify and understand properties and hazards of chemicals
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to co-workers and customers.

- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of statistics and physical chemistry
