IT Project Manager

Job Description:
Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
- Understand the strategy and future direction of the organization, as well as challenges and opportunities that are inherent to that strategy and direction.
- Ensure that the objectives and priorities of the project or program are aligned with the company's strategic direction.
- Directs the activities of individuals representing multiple business areas to achieve results in a matrix-ed organizational structure, managing across the organization to achieve project objectives.
- Accountable for developing detailed project plans, agile artifacts and status reports as well as working with teams of infrastructure engineers, security engineers and developers.
- Identify and manage key milestones, timelines, deliverables, roadblocks and budget.
- Support the implementation process and ensure production readiness by coordinating all aspects of the business partnering with the infrastructure, application development, and production support teams.
- Managing timelines, resolving problems and coaching team members on Agile / Scrum methodologies.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Demonstrated track record of achievement with ability to identify and exceed customer expectations.
- Excellent continuous quality improvement and/or project management skills.
- Must have a high level of intellectual curiosity and openness to change.
- Strong conflict resolution, facilitation, and negotiation skills, capable of adapting the approach as needed.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills, able to anticipate, identify and eliminate problems.
- Proven ability to collect and analyze feedback and data and transform findings into project-level strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little to no direction and make decisions as needed.
- Utility, Power, Energy Industry experience is highly preferable.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent technical work experience
Certifications:
- PMP / Agile / ScrumMaster Certification are highly desirable.
