What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Principal ORAN Architect position at Tech Stalwart Solution?
● Working in a fast-paced environment that is focused on rapidly identifying, evaluating and deploying new technologies for Verizon
● Interacting with Technical teams, Network Planners, Security Risk Management, and Security Operations teams to fully understand the needs of the project, timelines, and operational environments in scope
● Collaborating with vendors and the broader ORAN community developments and ensure their future capabilities align with Verizon’s needs
● Monitoring the project tracker for new project assignments and updates
● Reaching out to project teams for engagement in projects
● Providing process feedback to project teams who are looking for requirements or design work
● Engaging internally with Verizon employees for project feedback and sharing relevant results and trends that could impact Verizon’s internal O-RAN activity.
● Tracking your work in our tracking system and keep project artifacts and notes updated
● Authoring requirements document to represent gaps, solutions, enhancements in fronthaul through collaboration with subject matter experts
● Reviewing requirements with the project team and answering any questions related to them
● Communicating progress, requirements, and any issues to ensure successful handoff of deliverables to program and operational teams
● Building domain knowledge of Verizon’s environment to understand long-term risk areas that will develop as the systems evolve
● Collaborate with the supplier ecosystem participants in the ACCoRD program
● Provide technical guidance to the testing team in the ACCoRD testbeds
● Providing thought leadership by participating in industry forums and collaborating with academic and research institutions
What we're looking for...
You’ll need to have:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or tenor more years of work experience
● Experience in RAN features focused on coverage, capacity and performance as well as service running on Open RAN networks
● Understanding of 5G Open RAN split functions (7-2x, ULPI, RU, DU, CU, CP, UP...)
● Experience in RF optimization, KPI analysis, network log analysis
● Knowledge of mobile networks, especially on 3GPP and FCC LTE 4G and 5G standards in RAN and the interface between the radio network and core
● Knowledge of MIMO, Massive MIMO and beamforming techniques
● Familiarity with O-RAN Conformance tools/software such as Keysight and Viavi and testing methodologies.
● Experience with diagnostic tools such as QXDM/XCAL etc to debug issues
● Knowledge of packet capture tools, UE logs, and spectrum analyzer is a plus
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
● Extensive understanding and experience in RAN/vRAN software architectures in a virtualized environment including L1 Acceleration.
● Familiarity with challenges related to O-RAN multivendor deployment in Brownfield networks and Greenfield networks.
● Experience in participating in O-RAN working groups.
● Extensive understanding of Radio Unit building blocks, transport solutions, PTP
● Familiarity with common service management and orchestration (SMO) framework to manage the lifecycle of the network functions.
● Experience in hosting technical troubleshooting sessions in a multi-vendor environment.
● Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to changes and comfortable working with cross-functional teams and in lab environments.
