JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs the duties of the SSMO Section Leader and works under general supervision and may act on behalf of the PTA Operations Division Chief. Communicate contractual directives as Section Lead, and organize the SSMO Section to accomplish regulatory guidelines and tasks. Responsible for oversight, coordination, planning, and providing work direction of subordinates and equipment performing specialized functions of security, storage, inventories, issues, and intra-depot transfers. Determines tasking requirements, plans action, and schedules employees to meet varying workloads. Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations to optimize efficiency and maintain high quality company standards. Coordinates the Shipping and Receiving of Containers with the appropriate Vendors. Monitors documentation control and security; adherence to approved procedures and policies. Maintain a positive customer interface with the LRC-Hawaii, USAG-HI Civilians, and Military units conducting exercise operations at PTA (Hawaii Island).
Performs a variety of warehousing duties to include stock control, receipt and issue, shipping/packing, inventory, and other duties as required by the Army Food Service Program in accordance with applicable directives. Responsible for conducting inventories of all stored materials, removing material from storage, and issuing to Customers. Essential job functions include the verification of materials and equipment against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies, obvious damages, and deterioration; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, and/or palletizing materials in accordance with all DOD and US Army Regulations. May be cross-utilized in other job areas, and operate in extreme environmental conditions on occasion. May be assigned to support contract support requirements in a job-related area such as environmental, safety, and security. As directed, responsible for a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the establishment's storage, safety, accountability, and physical security plan. The position will also be responsible for a combination of processing documents and reports into various Army software programs as well as preparing data into monthly reports.
Position involves working primarily in an outdoor environment which includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions and will require the operation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in performing various warehousing functions and obtain operators qualification. Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, climbing and reaching. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste and the use of personal protective equipment.
Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to achieve/obtain a favorable government secret clearance within one year and possess a current Hawaii State driver’s license. In addition, the use of hand tools, AIT, powered equipment, material handling equipment, fax machine, copier, and computer software (Microsoft Office) is routine. The person selected for this position must possess excellent organizational and multitasking skills, be able to communicate effectively with people.
Preferred: High school diploma and five years of applicable experience with supervisory duties. Working knowledge of Windows, and Microsoft applications (i.e. Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
