Cost Accountant

We are seeking a Cost Accountant with a strong background in accounting and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting, a proven track record in manufacturing environments, and 5-7 years of accounting experience. This position is perfect for a motivated, detail-oriented individual who is eager to take on a variety of financial and accounting responsibilities, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Cost Accounting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform cost accounting functions, including analysis and allocation of manufacturing costs, overhead, and variances.
• Manage and maintain cost accounting records and systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Analyze product cost structures and make recommendations for cost optimization.
• Work closely with the production and operations teams to monitor and control production costs.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost variance analysis.
• Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
• Handle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
• Developing and analyzing cost standards
• Performing account reconciliations
• Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data.
• Determining the actual cost and the associated expenses of manufacturing a product.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5-7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and techniques.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a willingness to take on various accounting and finance responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet deadlines.

Work Environment:

· Majority of work performed in a general office environment – Remote positions are not available at this time. Position may require occasional availability for extended hours.
