Data QA Analyst

Position: Data QA

Location: Fairfax, VA (Remote to start)

Duration: 6 months

Must have Skills : SQL (Strong), SQL Server, SQL Scripts

Job Description :

• Develop Data Quality Assurance Plan that identifies the test strategy and test cases to ensure the quality of data across multiple systems.
• The plan will need to identify automated processes to complete the test executions.
• Responsible for identifying deficiencies in data quality, sources of those deficiencies, potential mitigations, and constraints associated with those mitigations.
• Identify and report metrics to track data quality.
• Develop automated monitors and reports of data quality metrics.
• Verify the quality of data pipeline development and deployment to production environments, including data in databases, Amazon S3 buckets and snowflake db.
• Perform System testing, Integration testing, Functional testing, Regression testing and Smoke Tests.
• Write SQL scripts to extract the data and apply transformations to perform backend testing on datasets.
• Bulk comparison of data from source and target to identify differences and assure quality.
• Work with development and data engineers to troubleshoot critical production issues.
• Work as a scrum team member in a highly creative and collaborative agile environment

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years experience in performing data analysis by writing SQL queries against source and target system databases
• Experience validating data via ETL, SQL and automation tools
• Bachelors degree in a science related field, with 5 years’ experience
• Proven track record of working independently to define test cases and executing tests to find defects in processes/system being tested
• Demonstrated experience showing strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills paired with a desire to take initiative
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communications skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced nature of a high-growth organization
• Must be a critical thinker and self-starter

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $55.00 - $58.00 per hour
