Surface Finishing Technologies is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our team based in Clearwater, FL near Tampa, FL. In this job the individual chosen will be responsible for ensuring cost-effective purchase of all materials and services as required by the procurement plan and in compliance with the Company's policies and procedures.

• Work with the purchasing manager to run the purchasing department

• Get Bids / Quotes from Vendors
• Issue purchase order(s) to appropriate vendor.
• Receive purchase order confirmations and check that PO ship date, item, quantity is correct.
• Communicate with internal customer service or sales reps when ship dates are in jeopardy.
• Continue follow up on open purchase orders to assure promised ship date is met.

• Once PO is fulfilled and shipped obtain tracking numbers and file for future reference.
• Negotiate pricing on a case by case basis
• Data Entry, Scanning documents, Creating and Organizing job files, Filing
• You will be crossed trained with other departments as needed.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Excel.
• Good computer skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Candidate must possess the ability to communicate clear and concise instructions to
• Candidate must be able to handle a high volume of daily e-mails.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to work overtime when needed

• High School Diploma or higher
• Must be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task
• Comfortable in a warehouse setting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
