The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) partnering with the Department of Corrections is seeking one full-time .NET Developer.
At a high level, the resource will help support the existing Department of Corrections (DOC) Portal system. The Portal system is a centralized website providing a myriad of functions to customers external to the DOC. The DOC Portal is written in VB.net and uses ASP.net Web Forms as its major technologies. Included in support of the Portal is support of over 100 data extract transfer loads (ETL) received from various entities across the State.
The work is expected to be done remotely for now, but in the future may be required to work full time on site at the DOC Central Office located at 1450 Energy Park Drive, St. Paul, MN.
Sample Tasks
Collaborate with business analysts and developers to produce software designs
Formulate program specifications and basic prototypes
Transform software designs and specifications into high functioning code in the .Net family of languages
Integrate individual software solutions to higher level systems
Use web-based tools to create and advance applications
Test code periodically to ensure it produces the desirable results and perform debugging when necessary
Perform upgrades to make software and systems more secure and efficient
Modernize existing applications by re-writing them in newer technology
Provide knowledge transfer
Desired Qualifications
Four (4) years' experience with .Net development
Four (4) years' experience with Entity Framework
Three (3) years' experience with SQL Server / T-SQL
Two (2) years' experience with ASP.Net Web Forms
Criminal Justice experience
Experience and knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle
Data Extract Transfer Load (ETL) experience
SQL Server Reporting Services
Experience and knowledge in secure software development methodologies
Current residence status within reasonable driving distance of St. Paul MN.
