Techno is seeking a Financial Comptroller to join our corporate team in our Princeton, NJ Office. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and overseeing all financial activities of the organization, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiations.
Job Description:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll to ensure accurate and timely financial management.
- Prepare and present weekly reports to assist with the management of potential projects, ongoing projects, revenue, and collections.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to provide a clear financial overview.
- Analyze variances between accounts and provide detailed explanations to management on a monthly basis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ensure the accuracy of both accrual and cash-based financial statements for a true representation of the company's financial status.
- Recommend and report financial benchmarks to measure the company's performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual revenue budget, report progress weekly, and work with management to prepare an annual budget for expenses and income, reporting variances monthly.
- Ensure adequate internal controls are in place and maintained to protect company assets against loss or misappropriation. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including quarterly payroll tax returns, annual property tax returns, and state registrations and licenses.
- Supervise the Human Resources Department, including the annual renewal of benefits plans, 401k compliance, and other regulations to ensure employee satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
- Hold a senior role in conducting internal audits to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and operational efficiency.
- Regularly update the accounting system as needed to ensure it remains current and efficient.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned to support the company's financial health and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field within engineering, construction, or related industries.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant business discipline preferred.
- FAR knowledge is highly desirable.
- Experience in creating financial statements and general ledger functions, knowledge of accounting principles, and ability to use accounting software.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and cost accounting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and precise.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Capable of multitasking effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software applications.
