- Role: Splunk Administrator
- Experience: 5 years
- Location: Phoenix, AZ
- Duration: 12-month contract
- Responsible for Splunk agent deployment and server infrastructure analysis, optimization, and capacity planning.
- Recommend and execute improvements to the existing Splunk architecture and design with growth and scalability in mind to optimize performance, stability, reliability, and agility.
- Perform configuration management and control of maintenance architectural/design/functional changes to Splunk platform.
- Monitor Splunk system updates for planning, reviewing, testing, and executing patches and upgrades.
- Perform on-boarding/integration of standard and custom data sources in Splunk using regular expressions to create extractions.
- Integrate threat intelligence feeds with other security tools to enable enhanced automation.
- Analyze security monitoring and reporting requirements and define, design, develop, and maintain/improve Splunk dashboards, reports, and alerts.
- Provide operations monitoring of Splunk platform to enable proactive issue identification, response, and resolution.
- Support Splunk on Unix, Red Hat Linux, and Windows-based platforms.
- Perform monitoring and tuning.
- Provide operations and maintenance including production and infrastructure support, root cause analysis, break/fix, troubleshooting, and health monitoring.
- Solve/troubleshoot complex integration challenges and configuration issues.
- Hands-on experience administering, maintaining, and scaling Splunk instances.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Pearl or Python or Bash.
- Hands-on experience with Regular Expressions (RegEx).
- Working knowledge of Splunk Validated Architectures.
- Working knowledge and understanding of network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Working knowledge and understanding of networking and switching protocols and infrastructure services able to troubleshoot and identify DNS, NTP, routing, switching, and firewall issues affecting connectivity of Splunk instances.
