Cognos BI / TM1 Developer

Position: Cognos BI / TM1 developer

Location: Detroit, MI

Duration: 12 Months Contract with possible extension

Description :-

Experience Required

A minimum of 8 years of IT industry experience including experience in the relevant areas - planning model building, managing planning cycles and providing production support.

A minimum of 5 years experience working with IBM Cognos BI

Responsible for report development and analytics for all areas of the business.

Cognos reports development, dashboards development, framework maintenance and development.

Involves effective understanding of business needs combined with a knowledge of pertinent data to design reporting solutions that are meaningful and well thought out based on business requirements, standards, and best practices.

Experience working with budget and forecast planning applications.

Must possess organizational proficiencies to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under limited supervision.

Must be highly motivated, self-starting, and committed to achieving results and have a strong sense of ownership and follow-through to resolution

Must have strong problem-solving skills

Familiarity/experience with the following Technologies:

o IBM Analytics / Cognos BI

o IBM Planning Analytics / Cognos TM1

o Oracle

o Microsoft office products

Roles & Responsibilities

Code delivery

Delivery reviews, ensuing defect free deliverables from team following SDLC/Agile process and client standards

Assistance with prioritization of incoming business requests

Respond to ad hoc report requests and issues from the enterprise

Communicate with stakeholders regarding information needs

Assistance with some aspects of Cognos and Tableau Administration

Develop reporting solutions for all business areas based on business needs

Develop dashboards within the IBM Cognos suite

Create, enhance, and maintain Framework Manager Models

Collaborate with business users and members of IT, including business analysts, database administrators, and managers, to design and develop Cognos reporting capability

Exhibit a commitment to data quality by validating results against sources specified in the requirements

Develop and maintain stored procedures

Write and support queries against databases to be used for reporting and for validation/unit testing

Provide production support for Reporting issues during and outside of business hours as needed

Provide occasional training of Cognos software, environment, and configuration to other report writers and consumers
