Duration : 6 Months
Job Description:
· The cpe QA Engineer is responsible for Integration and Performance Testing of Comcast deployed Modems, extenders, home security devices and Video devices.
· This includes the development and execution of test strategies and test plans.
· The candidate must be able to understand customer requirements and possess the ability to create test cases for these requirements, as well as follow existing test plans and meet testing and release schedules.
· Work with the product managers and development engineers to define & document product functionalities and requirements. Actively participate in issue triage / troubleshooting.
· Clearly document processes used. In this position you will be part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
· Must have at least 5 years of experience with Information Technology.
· Knowledge about set top boxes, the associated components and their functionalities
· Technical experience directly working with Wi-Fi / RF in computer architecture and data communications.
· Experience with Wireless technology testing which includes Wireless AP’s, Routers, Wireless extenders & Wireless standards (802.11b/g/n/ac/ax)
· Knowledge of real-world wireless environments.
· Experience working with TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6 addressing, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, ARP, NAT, Bridging, Switching.
· Familiarity with industry standard Wi-Fi test tools like Veriwave, IXIA Chariot and packet debuggers like Wire shark, Omnipeek and Savius.
· Has a technical background in secondary home networking technologies such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, MoCA, and Ethernet in a DOCSIS environment.
· Familiarity with RF chambers Octoscope, Lindgren etc.
· Comfortable in some scripting language of choice
· Must be able to work independently
· Strong background in designing or extending existing test frameworks
· Excellent Debugging skills & experience troubleshooting
· Working knowledge of UNIX-based systems and command-line tools for analysis, and automation Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Understanding of and experience with the full product development lifecycle, including functional and technical specifications, product use cases, user stories, implementation, QA processes, deployment and maintenance
· Thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while confidently driving multiple projects across many teams
· Excellent communication skills, ability to lead the projects and present them to SLT.
