Cyient Inc. is looking for a Purchasing Agent to work with our Industrial Energy Team in Lancaster, Ohio. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing assigned commodities and services, including direct/indirect commodities of engineered equipment, raw material, fabrication services, MRO, valves, hardware, PV&F, gears, outside processing, engineering/design services, or other items. You will gather requirements, request proposals and quotes from potential suppliers, evaluate bids, develop and execute negotiation strategies, issue purchase orders, manage supplier execution, ensure on-time delivery and quality, manage vendor claims, and process invoices supporting the business units.
This is an onsite assignment. The candidate must be available in Lancaster/Columbus, Ohio or willing to relocate.
You Will:
- Lead execution of RFPs and other sourcing events.
- Develop new or existing suppliers to improve sourcing options to meet execution strategy
- Review purchase requisitions to ensure scope is specified correctly as to description and/or use.
- Develop sourcing strategies as required for commodities assigned.
- Identify qualified suppliers and obtain competitive quotes.
- Create purchase orders using an ERP system and track transactions through order, receipt, invoice reconciliation, and payment.
- Serve as the primary contact with suppliers. Ensure required deliverables are maintained.
- Develop and maintain internal interfaces with project managers, project controls, engineers, and other internal personnel.
You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent with specialization in purchasing preferred
- 4 -8 years of relevant Supply Chain or related experience in a project driven, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- 8-10 years of experience in the buyer/supply chain industry
- Experience in manufacturing and inventory planning will be preferred.
- Knowledge of working on ERP like Oracle, SAP will be preferred
- Ability to travel to customer locations, if needed.
- Ability to pass Background Check, Drug Screen, and complete onboarding activities.
- Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
